How a Little TLC Can Set Your Business Up for Unstoppable Success
For the last 2-3 months I haven’t been feeling so hot.
On some days: downright dreadful.
No, it’s nothing serious — just some old adrenal challenges lurking their fatigued lil’ heads.
But none-the-less, it can really grind this sassy red-head to a halt.
So over the past several weeks — between sucking down supplements, gobbling up superfoods, and driving to practitioner appointments — I’ve been pondering. Studying. Watching. Exploring.
And 1 thing I discovered was this: My body had been giving me subtle signs that something was “off” for quite some time.
But I hadn’t paid much attention.
As I look back, I see that I was drowning my body’s soft whimpers with coffee (and carbohydrates).
So, as I’ve been dilligently pondering this situation, it has opened my eyes to a raging phenomenon: Entrepreneurs putting their businesses before their health.
More and more of us unstoppable chickadees are coming out of adrenal-burnout hiding. Even health superstar Chris Carr (author of Crazy Sexy Cancer) did a recent video about HER adrenal fatigue hurdles.
Why?
Cause being Unstoppable does come with its challenges…
Sure, you want to soar to the stars! Change millions of lives! Stretch your creative muscles as wide as the world will allow!
But you can’t do everything all at once. And you SURE can’t build a thriving career if you put your body BEFORE your business.
Cause without your health, it’s tough stuff to pull off big dreams and exciting plans.
(I know first hand.)
But putting your body FIRST takes time, faith and energy.
— It requires you to follow your gut, and not your head.
— It requires you to do things differently and create new habits.
— It requires you to go against the grain, and not give a hoot about what others think.
For example: my gorgeous friend, amazing health coach, and famous (former) vegan, Alex Jamieson — co-star of the smash-hit documentary: SuperSize Me — came out of the carnivore-closet last week (even though a whole bunch of fellow vegans tried to bully her back in).
But Alex is unstoppable. She trusts her own inner wisdom over reputation or ramifications.
And let me just say it bluntly: that takes BALLS.
So what about you?
What signals has your body been giving you? (And are you unstoppable enough to listen?)
• Are you feeling tired – but working anyway?
• Are you feeling blah – and covering it with coffee (or donuts or wine or shopping)?
• Are you feeling fatigued – but unwilling to eat new foods, explore stressful beliefs, or invest in your own health?
While it might seem like a drag to take time out for TLC, it’s actually a most amazing adventure!!!!
I kid you not.
I’ve learned more cool new things in the past several weeks than I have in eons. I’ve experienced amazing new modalities. Tried amazing new herbs. Eaten amazing new foods.
I’ve been sleeping without setting an alarm. Laid leisurely in bed for days. Played hooky from work to go to the zoo with my sweetie. Sat cross-legged in the park, gazing at the world.
But best of all, I’ve been shown a new level of honor and awe for the life that I have. A renewed reverence for my body’s signals and signs. And a continually expanding appreciation for how much my physical form gives to me…unconditionally.
Wow.
So are you buying into any of these old, outdated myths that cause serious stress to your system, like:
• Making money is haaaaaard!
• I’m not “good enough” – so I’d better do MORE!
• If I slow down and relax, the world will end!
• If it’s not an effort, I must not be doing it right!
… Then come join me and so many other women who are trailblazing to end this ancient (exhausting) cycle.
It’s time to put yourself above all else — and to let your business simply become an expression of your overflowing, unstoppable energy.
So this week, try on this exercise:
Close your eyes, and imagine that your body can talk…
What would she say right now? What requests would she make? What foods does she desire? How much sleep would she like to get?
Then, just be brave enough to LISTEN.
— Is she wanting you to eat more kale? Drink more water? Get a massage? Go to bed earlier?
— Is she wanting you to stop playing small? Quit your job? Speak your truth? Climb a tree?
Whatever it is, share YOUR body’s wisdom in the comment box below – as well as any inspired actions you’re going to take this week to pave a healthy new pathway for you and your business.
Until next week, be unstoppable!
